Loch Lomond, Scotland – April, 2025 – Freedom Boat Club Loch Lomond is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Franchise of the Year Award for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. This accolade recognises the Club’s exceptional performance, outstanding service, and significant contributions to the boating community, highlighting its commitment to excellence and dedication to providing unparalleled boating experiences.
Over the past year, Freedom Boat Club Loch Lomond has achieved remarkable milestones that set it apart as a leader in the region. In early 2025, the Club proudly and officially received its RYA accreditation, and is now the only RYA training centre open to the general public on Loch Lomond, offering Powerboat Level 2 courses to all. This certification underscores the Club’s dedication to promoting safe and skilled boating practises.
In a strategic move to enhance accessibility, the Club relocated from the north of the Loch in Ardlui to the southern shores around Luss in February 2024. This new location has made it even easier for members to enjoy the impressive 23+ miles of breathtaking scenery on the waters of Loch Lomond. Additionally, the Club has expanded its fleet of boats to accommodate its growing membership base, ensuring that members have access to a diverse range of boating options and a wide range of availability.

Freedom Boat Club Loch Lomond has also made a significant impact through its charitable initiatives. The club has raised money and awareness for local charities close their hearts, such as St Vincent’s Hospice, Old Kilpatrick Food Parcels (OKFP), the John Hartson Foundation and Variety Children’s Charity. Notably, the Club hosted their staff Christmas party at the local food bank (OKFP), raising funds for the food bank, organising a toy drive and wrapping presents for disadvantaged families across Dunbartonshire.
The Club’s commitment to fostering a vibrant community is evident through its regular Members’ Events, including BBQs, whiskey tastings and Member Mixers. Last year, the Club launched its Corporate Membership package, which has been met with great success. Corporate Members have enjoyed taking clients and suppliers on unforgettable outings, with many business deals being made on the Club’s luxury speedboats. These members also benefit from a Corporate Day Out of their choice, which can be used for staff appreciation days, corporate networking events, private client gratitude days, and more.
To further enhance the boating experience, the Club has expanded its supply of water towing equipment free for Members’ usage, including water skis, tubes, and kneeboards. Last year, stand-up paddleboards and a kayak were also added to the fleet, providing members with even more ways to enjoy the water.
