COVID-19 Business Closure & Hardship Funds
New and temporary business support funds are being administered by Local Authorities on behalf of the Scottish Government, providing one-off grants to businesses very directly impacted by the restrictions implemented on 9 October 2020.
A COVID-19 Business Closure Fund is available to hospitality and other businesses required to close (except for takeaway) by these new restrictions. It operates as a two-tiered scheme, with a smaller grant of £2,875 for businesses with a Rateable Value (RV) of up to and including £51,000 and a larger grant of £4,310 for those businesses with a RV of £51,001 or over. An upper limit of £21,000 in total will apply to any eligible business operating multiple premises.
The COVID-19 Business Hardship fund will provide payments of £1,440 or £2,155, dependent on Rateable Value – to support some businesses that remain open but are still significantly impacted by the restrictions, including those in the direct supply chains of firms that must close. An upper limit of £10,000 will apply in total to any eligible business operating multiple premises.
For clarity, retail and businesses that provide takeaway food as the core and established basis of their operations are not eligible for these closure or hardship funds.
Please note the Business Closure Fund and Business Hardship Fund close for applications on Tuesday 3rd November at 5pm. No applications will be accepted after this date and time.

Why Join the Chamber
Chamber membership can save you hundreds or more each year for just a few pence a day. Have a look at some of the benefits of being a chamber member.
I would highly recommend chamber membership to any Dunbartonshire business. The chamber works hard to make connections and generate profile for its members and SHBT have enjoyed a number of benefits over the years.Elizabeth Mackay, SHBT
